The best possible information that we have received from the National Weather Service and the Cook County Department of Homeland Security has indicated that the Village of Lyons may face a serious flooding event. Due to the prior rainfall and flooding conditions posed by the DesPlaines River, flooding may occur in your area. You are advised to do the following:
- Your area is facing high probability of flooding Severe weather affecting area from Friday, July 21 through Friday, July 28
- Severe weather affecting area from Friday, July 21 through Friday, July 28
- Secure yourself and your property
- Evacuate the area if necessary
- Monitor local media for updates to the weather condition
If you do choose to evacuate your home please call 911 to inform emergency services that the house is vacant and the police department will keep an extra watch on your property. Please be sure to leave a phone number that we can reach you with, should the need arise. If you have an emergency situation call 9-1-1
