Municipal Garbage Services
Garbage is collected in the village every day; pick-up depends on your address. The Village of Lyons collects garbage and recycling. Please call the Village directly with any questions.
If for some reason your garbage does not get picked up before 5:00 p.m. on your service day, contact the Village Hall and the problem will be resolved.

Please note: If your pick-up day falls on a holiday, your pick-up will be delayed one day.
Holidays include New Years Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Garbage Billing
Your garbage collection and disposal charges vary on the size of garbage toter you choose. The lowest rate available is for a 35-gallon toter that the resident supplies themselves. The cost is $28.08 for a two month period. Please note: Before purchasing a toter, verify that it is 35 gallons. Any other size will NOT be picked up by the garbage company.
The other two options available are 65-gallon and 95-gallon toters that can only be purchased from Village Hall. The bi-monthly fees are $37.36 for a 65 gallon and $44.62 for a 95 gallon. These prices accumulate according to the number of toters you use. These toters are Village of Lyons property and are to remain at the specific property for which it is purchased at all times. Broken 65 gallon or 95 gallon Village toters can be replaced at no charge. Please contact the Village Hall for additional details.
If you are interested in upgrading from your own 35-gallon toter, there is a one-time non-refundable fee involved. Please contact Village Hall for further information.
